One of the coolest things about Cuba is that EVERY car is essentially a taxi driver. Hitchhiking is also really common/easy here for that exact reason. These are called collective taxis (taxi colectivos) and for less than $1, you can get yourself a few blocks/minutes down the road. Of course these cars are dated, but they still run like whistles, built for fashion AND function. But it definitely took me a few days to stop reaching for seat belts that were never there, lol. One time when I reached over for the seat belt while in the front of a taxi, he laughed and said, “This is Cuba… NO BELT, NO PROBLEM!” Jesus take the wheel. #literally CC: @FisheyeJourneys | #fisheyejourneys
